@Carl

Strange you say this.. a v1.1.1 update was released in the US it seems and appears to have fixed the issue somewhat.

Apparently if any other devices are connected the issue returns but just for the Quest 2 with AX enabled I am told its working well now.

As I said before the UK version doesn't have any issues to speak of.

@Carl

What are they testing for and how?
I'll be the first to admit I don't know anything about the technical side of things but it kind of baffles me that they didn't find anything.

Get a Quest 2 in there and try to stream from it and it becomes apparent.
Even my 802.11n modem/router from my ISP provides a much smoother streaming experience.

I do appreciate the update though.

@oursoul

I can't seem to find that firmware anywhere for the AX10/1500 or AX50/3000.

When was it released and where?

@hamda_s

Not sure.  We provided this thread and they reviewed it and told us they tested and found no issues.  I did request they re-review the thread as a full page of replies have been added since i last spoke to them.

@Carl

Cheers, appreciate it.

I really hope this gets resolved because the router works great otherwise and I don't want to have to return it by the end of next week.

Fingers crossed!

I'm reporting the same issue for my AX50 US v1.0

I've basically gone through all the optimization both physically (cables, placement) and settings (DFS, exclusive 5ghz, etc.) and verified that:

  • No issues when using link
  • Issue was resolved when using AC (this is the solution to the issue for me at this point)
  • No amount of tweaking ever removed the micro-stutters

Hopefully this is a firmware issue and not a hardware issue.

I personnaly chosen to send back that router.
I have tested another one (other brand), and it work just fine, and even in AC mode the results are better with the new one.

I'm sorry for TP-Link, but they are too slow to fix the issue. The Oclus Quest 2 is almost 2 months old now, it should have been fixed.

I suggest everyone to leave a comment in their resellers website to warn peoples about it. (maybe that will motivate TP-Link to find a solution)

Yeah I've returned mine today as well.

I have no faith in them finding a solution after their first reply.

Ac mode didn't work well for me at all.

I also went with another brand and it works flawlessly.

I still hope there'll be a solution for the others who are having these problems.

Man, I'm a reseller and got it for my personal unit, but I can't really return mine since I threw out all the packaging. Oh well, here's to hoping TPLINK manages a solution. In the meantime, I'll have to contend with using AC.

@Carl

Hi.

Bought Archer AX50 yesterday. I found this thread to late. Thank god I can still refund this. But before I do it, can you please give us an answer that is this problem going to be solved or not? Does your r&d department have Oculus quest 2 to test this problem? Bought this only for quest 2 and I can see that its useless for that purpose now. using ax mode it stutters every 5 to 10 seconds. Clearly theres something wrong with this product.
