Are the TP-Link WIFI routers WIFI as WAN compatible? I need to connect a MIFI to my router using WIFI as WAN. WDS bridge is not going to work, because this shifts the DHCP handling to the MIFI which is limited to 5 devices.

I currently do this using a Cradelpoint MBR1200B that I would like to upgrade.

I would think you may want a "travel router" such as TL-WR902AC. There are others also.

This is for a home application. I wanted strong WIFI range and LAN ports.

@nhinze

Our other devices other than the travel routers like @ArcherC8 mentioned would be the CPE outdoor AP units. The dBi on those devices are very directional so I'm not sure if that would work if you were looking for something omnidirectional: https://www.tp-link.com/us/business-networking/outdoor-radio/
