I'm considering getting this router. 2 questions:

1) can my current wifi adapter (a good 1 for reception) be used to help reception for this router?

2) if I have multiple hotspots from xfinity, can I pick which 1 I connect to? Currently on my PC Windows automatically picks the strongest signal. I don't want that 1 (it doesn't connect well)

1) assuming that your WIFI adapter is 2.4 GHz (802.11n) (no 5GHz on that router)

2) it is the device (PC) that selects which WIFI to use. Since the SSIDs are the same, most devices will go for the stronger signal. You can try placing the router where it can be focused more on the WIFI you want and even adding a metal shield between the router and WIFI you do not want to use.
