T4U Plus - connected to network but not internet (Mac OS)

I am not able to connect to the internet with the T4U Plus, even though I am supposedly connected to the network. I'm on a MacBook Pro running 10.11.6 ( the original wi-fi no longer works, hence the wifi adapter ). Any suggestions?
