Hello! The driver on the website is 2.2.2.0 .
the manufacturer Marvell on their website has a newer driver.
does TPLINK alter their firmware in anyway making it more compatible or something?
While we recommend using the official drivers, chipset manufacture's dirvers will work in most cases on our adapters. This is similar how Windows default drivers work with them. I know our software team does make modifications of the base driver, but I can't say what exactly.
