I have a working M9 Plus system, but looks like it is end-of-life. Are there any options for me to expand it by 1-2 nodes with another compatible Deco model?

Deco is universally compatible with each other.  You can expand with anything that is available.  The key is to have the most advanced or feature lush device as the main.  For instance if you added a Deco X90 you would want to put the X90 as the main unit.
