Model: Archer C5400X
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.3 Build 20211222 rel.4234

Hi,

Just wondering if is possible to setup mesh with my  Archer C5400X  and RE550 range extender (which is apparently mesh-enabled)?  During extenders setup in Tether app got info that there is no mesh-enabled router available and having extra WiFi network from extender is a pain as a reason some of my devices (e.g printer) are not visible to other devices working on routers primary WiFi networks.

Any feedback highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Kris

Your RE550 does support OneMesh but the Archer C5400X does not.  I see this post is from Great Britain so this list will show you which routers are compatible currently with OneMesh in the UK.  https://www.tp-link.com/uk/onemesh/

  @Carl

Hi, thanks for the link.

Is there any chance for new firmware which will enable OneMesh on C5400X? Its a great router and really dont want to spend another €300 for new one.

Thanks,

Kris

Not as far as I know.  The C5400X, at least here in the US, is EOL (end-of-life) when a router is end of life we will for the most part discontinue firmware updates, unless there is a need to address a bug or security flaw that was previously unknown.  Adding features however typically does not happen after the product is EOL
