Model: RE105
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 5.6

It appears that the RE105 is not compatible with the Spectrum WiFi hub?  Thus we are unable to have both a Ink Jet printer connected to the Spectrum WiFi at 2.4 GHz and the Sprinkler System connect to the RE105 at 2.4 Ghz.  Basically, when then RE105 is plugged in, it takes also takes our laptops offline which are connect to 5 GHz.  Sort of a nightmare.

  @GoSlyWiFi

Hi, welcome to the community.

May I know the model number of your Spectrum Wi-Fi Hub?

How did you find out that it was RE105 which caused the laptop to disconnect from 5Ghz since it does not even support 5Ghz?

Did you copy the same SSID on RE105 as Spectrum Wi-Fi Hub? If you do use the same SSID, maybe you could try to set up a separate SSID on the RE105 and test it on the printer and  Sprinkler System to see whether they could connect to separate networks ?

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP

Thanks for the reply.  The Spectrum Modem is: ET2251 and the Spectrum WiFi Hub (Router) is:  SAX1V1K

The SAX1V1K is a dual band WiFi; 2.4 and 5 Ghz.  Unfortunately, both must the same SSID and password.  Spectrum does not allow for a choice of making each one unique.

When adding the RE105 Extender our entire system went nuts.  After 2-3 days of work, disconnecting the RE105 (which was recently added for the sprinkler system) and resetting ALL the in house networks (the in-house Spectrum equipment could not handle it), I finally got the computers and printers working again.

I have not reconnected the RE105 again because I did not want to go through the nightmare again.

This link (if it works) should show the issues, maybe.

If there is a easy solution, that would be nice.

Thanks
