Model: Archer A20
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.4 Build 20230728 rel.19537

After upgrading my firmware to the latest version, there's more JavaScript code in the settings interface that hijacks my browser's scrolling function in a very unpleasant way. It implements some custom smooth scrollling behavior makes the entire interface lag like crazy when I scroll either the left hand column to choose a settings category and the right hand column to modify settings in that category. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

  @Envision3384;

Does this behavior exist on multiple browsers? It may be a result of the way your browser is rendering the page, or if an adblock is interfering. I would also make sure that your page zoom is set to 100% just in case. I would also recommend resettting the cache of the site by clearing the cookies in your browser for the page.

Don't forget also that most features can always be managed with the Tether App.

Would it be possible for you to provide a video of the behavior so we know what would need to be replicated?

  @Envision3384 The scrolling behavior is the same on Windows and Linux tested in Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Firefox, and Falkon with and without any addons. I've also tested it in fresh virtual machines with no cookies or cache for any website, and the behavior is the same. The zoom level does not effect it either. The more powerful machines can handle the scrolling behavior without the same amount of lagging, but it still causes the webpage as a whole to be much less responsive (and really, there's no excuse for needlessly hijacking the browser's scrolling function anyway). The machine with the serious lagging issue isn't powerful enough to record screen capture, but I can make a video from a more powerful machine later.

  @Envision3384  This is the first firmware upggrade in 4 years.  When I checked on my AC4000 V3.6 unit the firmware available is listed as   1.0.4 Build 20230727 rel. 7523.

That is apparently different from your version .  I will hold off upgrading until i can get a clarification from tp_link support..  I do not want to break what works just fine..

Actually the support site does not list any new firmware for the ac4000 after 2019..

  @DMB

I noticed the same and had a separate post on Sunday about the support site not even showing a 1.0.4 update.  I don't know what happpened but my post was erased.

Right now I wouldn't update until the support web site is updated.  My router works just fine and a new FW updates too often in my experience is a downgrade.
