Model: Archer A7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20220714 rel.75573

I'm using my Archer a7 as a WDS, after setting it up and restarting the PC, it connects and works fine (as per the instructions here) from both ethernet and wifi, the only issue is that I can no longer access the TP router setting afterwards. I can however access my main routers setting.

Things I tried, the factory firmware: 1.1.0 Build 20201120 rel.50399(4555)

Latest firmware: 1.2.1 Build 20220714 rel.75573

My main routers setting is 192.168.1.254

The original a7 setting is/was 192.168.0.1 (or via http://tplinkwifi.net/) Tried various IP's (shot in the dark) to access it such as 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.106 etc but nada

I tried enabling WDS on either 2.4 or 5ghz (can only enable on one band) but still same issue, though speeds are 10x slower on 2.4 for me.

I also tried on 2 other PC's, but cant access the a7 setting afterwards on all 3 systems.

I also tried using the "wds mode" as auto and wds1 but same issue.

Am I doing something wrong on how I can access the setting or is this bugged out?

This is the tp a7 setting after enabling wds (this is just before I restart the PC/or router, prior to restarting it doesnt connect to the internet) and the cmd ipconfig /all is after the PC restart. https://i.imgur.com/XDYAqse.png

Also wanted to add, while the image above shows the lan as 192.168.0.1, I have tried 192.168.0.2 as the instructions suggested but that also made no difference)

Some probably irrelevant notice: On windows, when I connect via ethernet (via a7) it lists my main routers name. On wifi it lists the a7's SSID.

Thank you, after fiddling with it one last time, I managed to fix it by setting the LAN's 3rd number be the same as my main router (so I set the a7's lan to 192.168.1.x and was able to access the setting via this now whereas before I kept changing x in 192.168.0.x - which was the default settings LAN for a7)

Good job.

WDS (A7) router must be in the same subnet as your main router to be able to access its web management.

So if your main router is in the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet, your WDS router should be in the same subnet.

If the default IP address of C7 is in 192.168.0.0/24 subnet - first change its IP address to 192.168.1.254 (for example) and then configure WDS to your main router.

When WDS once configured you can always reach its web management at http://192.168.1.254 via web browser.

Here's the guide for configuring WDS for routers with the green UI.
