I’m still encountering a persistent issue with the 2.4GHz band on my BE800 router.

The WiFi speed, particularly for 2.4GHz IP cameras, drops unexpectedly,

and some IoT devices lose their network connection.

Whenever this occurs, I’m compelled to manually reboot the router,

which temporarily restores normal functionality.

To address this, I’ve conducted several tests, including:

  • Setting the 2.4GHz channel to the optimal one available.
  • Limiting the 2.4GHz channel bandwidth to 20MHz.
  • Scheduling the router to reboot weekly.
  • Update to the latest firmware (1.1.1 Build 20240227 rel.33191)

Despite these measures, the problem remains unresolved.

The BE800’s 2.4GHz WiFi continues to malfunction sporadically,

approximately 2-3 times per month.

------

My devices

2.4Ghz IP cameras = 4 units

2.4Ghz iot devices =  45 units

5Ghz devices = 3 units (no issue)

6Ghz devices = 1 units (no issue)

45 iot devices on 2.4? You sure one of your clients isn't causing issues for you on that band?

I don't think standard ioT devices that make a very small bandwidth cause the problems.

My old router worked great with these devices.

I simulate the occurrence of problems by simultaneously streaming live view from four 2.4G IP cameras.

Afterward, within an hour, the 2.4G Wi-Fi network becomes slow, causing the images to stop displaying,

and some IoT devices disconnect from the network.

I found that the solution to the problem is to disable “Smart Connect”.

After separating the SSID for 2.4GHz and 5GHz, and trying streaming multiple times,

I discovered that there were no issues with the 2.4GHz signal, even when streaming for several hours.

Finally, I stopped using it. Having been trying to fix the stability of Wave 2.4 for several weeks, but still no method is effective enough.
