I recently purchased an AX1800, under the premise that it could be used as a WiFi extender. The issue: I have a router/modem in another room and want to use the Archer 1800 in another room and hook up LAN cables to it. Please help, if it's possible!

There may be some routers that do want you need but I do not know of one. Today I seen a youtube from Dave's Garage that showed a BrosTrend AX1500 extender. (Add wifi to any device). It does what you are asking for.
