I just upgraded my internet to a gig package and the modem comes with a 2.5gig port. My TP-Link router which is the Archer AX5400 Pro Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router comes with a 2.5 gig WAN port so should i connect the modem to that port or to the 1 gig port like normal?
@ArcherC8 I hooked it up to the 2.5 gig WAN port on the router but the internet light doesn't come on so i connected it to the 1gig WAN and all the lights on the router are on and i have internet so i'm not sure what the problem is.
the user guide for that router says to use the 2.5 port. Be sure you power off both the modem and router as the doc shows in the connection section of the user guide.
