Tether let me in to my neighbors AX73 - Massive security flaw
My parents live in another state and they have a AX73. I am set up as administrator and using Tether app I get into their router.
Last night I logged into it and was looking around at different settings and then noticed the client list. It became very obvious to me. I was in someone else's AX73.
I am not malicious, and would never do anything to harm the person's router I was in, but I did do some poking around to try to determine why this happened. They have a router password different than my parents. Their 2.4 and 5GHZ SSID is different than my parents and so is the Wi-Fi password.
I just checked now before creating this post and I can still get in. Tether shows me as an administrator.. I will take my name off, but I am visiting my parents this weekend and I want to wait to see what happens when I am locally connected to their router.
I am unable to access it using their Gateway address which is a 10.0 and mine is a 192.168
EDIT - above I said they had a different router password than my parents. It's actually not asking me for a router password. I just click on the device, which is supposed to be my parents and I went straight into this other
