Model: Deco XE5300
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.41

Ive had this system since Nov 2022.   My current config is Ting Fibre 1g/1g into my house and then to a Netgate 2100.  The system was working fine until the last few months.  I had the main unit replaced after my wifi kept dropping.  Anyhting on my internal network that was static IP never loses connection.  But occasionally the TP link units (XE5300) units green light will go red and I cannot connect to the devices thru the app.  Meanwhile on any machine with a static IP not on wifi, it never loses connection and I never drop as I'll be WFH  and in a meeting and it never drops.

I want to ask if am I better off using the TPLINK XE5300 as my router and if I do can I use my own DHCP and DNS server for internal networking.

Go from Ting Fibre to the tplink XE5300 and then to my switches and being able to control DNS and DHCP using my own internal servers but allowing the TPlink device to grab DHCP from my ISP (Ting).  I do use a 192.168.2.x internal network (class C)

Currently, the TPLINK device is in Access Point Mode, but I am willing to remove the Netear from my config; it will make my network more stable.

I look for any and all comments, please.

I would honestly try it, at least to compare using the Deco in AP mode to fully using it and its features in Router mode. You already know how it performs with Netgear acting as the router.  The most it would cost is the time in removing the Netgear router and swapping the Deco mode.  You don't need to reconfigure the wireless and it will stay what its currently set to. m
