I'm new at this, so thanks in advance for your help. I want to use my AX3000 as a switch to deliver WiFi to my house. My Xfinity Gateway (modem/router)  is in my home office in my barn. It connects via ethernet via an underground conduit to my living room 300yds distant. Where can I learn about how to configure the AX3000 as a second router connected to my main one? Thanks

If you use the Xfinity gateway, you have several common ways to use your router.

1. Connect the router in AP mode and it is an extension of your network. The gateway is the major conroller of your network.

2. Some routers allow for an extension mode which extendes the WIFI.

3. Change the setting in the gateway to be in bridge or passthru mode, and your router in router mode. Now the gateway is just a modem. Then the router controls your entire network (Ethernet and WIFI). This is the most common way the router is used. If you use this method, the Xfinity gateway can be replaced with your own modem and you can save the monthly fees. See the Xfinity website for the approved modems that can be used.

@rmr48 Thanks, but I don't see how using the AX3000 as my main router will give me wifi in my house, when I have all my main connections in my office in the barn. In any event, my question stands: where can I find specific information on how to configure my AX3000 as either a switch or AP?

@rmr48 Thanks. I'm watching the video on setup for access point, but my Win11 PC doesn't show the new router (or I don't know where to look). I plugged it in with ethernet cable to my switch that connects all devices to my network gateway device. I think I need to talk to someone. Thanks for the advice.
