My AC 1750 router is not working.  The flying saucer will not light up, I tried everything.  Is it dead?

that is the internet light. Be sure you modem is pluged into that internet jack on the back of the router.

 

Also follow the setup instructions which include power off and unplug the modem during the setup process so the ISP will reset the modem to connect to a different router.
