Model: Deco XE5300
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.14 Build 20241015 Rel. 45922

I don't understand why the Deco interface breaks up the Wifi bands between two networks: a (2.4G and 5G) network and a separate 6G network.

Can't the Deco auto-negotiate the best connection between the three bands?

If I name both networks the same name, will that cause problems?

  @CleverName

Sorry for the late reply.

What a lot of users are doing as a work around is enabling the IoT network and using that for 2.4 GHz devices then going into the deco app and from the More tab click on Wi-Fi Settings > Advanced > Band > and disabling the 2.4 GHz band

Then you can have one SSID for the IoT network and one for the 5 GHz band

Hope this helps.

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1

  @CleverName So far, at least on my BE95, at first it may enforce a unique name, but if you go back and edit it to match (as Apple recommends for all bands to be the same SSID and password), it has allowed me to make them all the same.
