I'd like to use this camera in night vision mode to detect IR LEDs, but the internal IR LEDs are so bright that they block the view. 

Is there a way to keep the internal IR LEDs OFF when the camera detects darkness?

Hi,
When the camera's night vision is off, the internal IR LEDs will turn off, and when the camera's night vision is on, the internal IR LEDs will turn on automatically and can't be turned off. 
Typically, when the camera's night vision is enabled, it captures clear, black-and-white images in low-light environments. If you have any specific requirements or scenarios you'd like to achieve with the external IR LEDs, please describe them in detail so that we can offer suitable suggestions.
