I purchased a BE9700 at Best Buy today on sale. I haven't found any other model number on it like an AXE5400 can also be called the AXE75 or whatever The numbers are?

regarding the firmware

Archer BE9700(US)_V1.60_1.0.4 Build 20250414 Is dated July 3, 2025

and

Archer BE9700(US)_V1.60_1.0.5 Build 20250519 Is dated June 30, 2025

The date differences are even more pronounced apart once you look at the Bin file within the zip. I think it was by a couple of weeks.

I went with the later date, but auto update wants to install the 1.0.5 which is an older firmware. I feel like they mis-named 1.0.4. It has newer date and maybe sghould have been named 1.0.6

I'm gonna make a second post about this router, but I wanted to specifically address the firmware in hopes that someone from tech-support sees it and corrects this. I'm having issues with this router.

Hi @DepecheFan

I'm sorry to hear about the confusion this caused, and I hope I can help clear things up for you.

Ultimately, the firmware version(s) and build number(s) will be the definitive factor when determining the "age" of the firmware itself.

1.0.5 is the more recent version number - and build number (2025/05/19 for 1.0.5 vs 2025/04/14 for 1.0.4) - so it will have the latest cumulative features and enhancements for your router. You can rest assured that upgrading to 1.0.5 won't be a downgrade from 1.0.4.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how the Published Date mix-up occurred, but I'll reach out to our teams internally to share your feedback and mitiguate future confusion.

Hope this helps!
