So I recently upgraded from my old nighthawk router to the Deco BE63 mesh system. Have the main one upstairs, and the second downstairs. My main PC is hardwired into the main unit. When I first setup the system on the 10th of this month (august) I was getting great speeds. 400+Mbps on both wifi and wired devices. However just a couple days later, my device speeds are only 10-12Mbps. The only change I can see is that the Decos updated. I've tried rebooting the decos, and the modem. I've swapped to a new Ethernet cord for both the Modem to Deco, and the Deco to my PC. But none of my devices are getting good speeds. When I run a speed test, it shows the network is getting close to 500Mbps, but none of my devices are getting that. Would love some ideas on how to get this fixed.

I would second HelpFixDecoApp's suggestion, and add that it may also be worth checking whether QoS has somehow been enabled on your Deco System.

 

To check whether QoS is enabled, open your Deco app, select More (bottom-right), then choose QoS. If you see an option at the bottom of this menu that says, "Turn Off", I'd suggest toggling it off and re-testing speeds.

  @Ryan it was actually the QoS. Somehow the settings got messed up after the update.

  @Reijekt Glad it's sorted! Odd that it suddenly changed after the update, though. 🤔

 

Do you happen to remember what your QoS configuration settings were before the update?

I recently sent a video to one of the members of the tp-link staff with some sugested changes to QoS and other changes that seem to always effect speed of deco units. Just waiting to see if they add them or not :)
