Model: Deco X50 - Outdoor
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.8

So the "latest" firmware for the x50's claims to fix this issue, but it doesnt -at least not in my case.  I added a second x50 today and the map in the app shows  one as being connected to the other and that unit as being connected to the main deco via WiFi.  The issue is both X50's are connected to a 2.5Gb switch directly and are not connected to each other directly at all.

The issue is that one is in the front yard and the other is in the back yard.  The front yard unit says its connected to the backyard (and again, it isnt) - and the backyards has a poor link to the main Deco (x65 pro) system in the house - even though its hardwired into a switch.  I know its has a weak link, which is one reason I wired it when I added it.  Since it has a poor WiFi link, its causing me issues with the devices connected to it and its frustrating.

Before adding the second, front yard Deco, the backyard unit showed hardwired without any issues.  But, after adding the second X50, it refuses to recognize the hardwired link....

Does anyone have any ideas??  I moved to Decos based on the fairly good reviews from my Ubiquity equipment - and to be honest, its for the best for a number of reasons but this type of issue is a big issue for my setup - it such a basic idea, no reason the units shouldn't know they are hardwired and keep that link over a poor WiFi connection.

And, Finally, if it matters - I'm in Router mode

Can you please log into the web ui using this link. Once your logged in click Advanced > System > Firmware Upgrade > Check for upgrades and see if there are any firmware upgrades for your deco's. If there are updates please install them.

If not please provide a screenshot of the page

@HelpFixDecoApp - Hi, did say I was running the latest FW on the X50's, and on me BE65's Im running the recent Bets (Not my first Network rodeo by any means) - But I realize you follow your script and process (which reallly delays the MTTR for people who know what they are doing).  But, since you asked:

09f9bc9be69f4a3299657602a505099d

Guessing the map and proving the issue would be the next question:

6b52a5cd5e1742bda4fd26a6c4735b4c

If you want a picture of the Deco X50s and the network cable to prove they are cabled - I can send that - the units are way too far from each other and its not even possible with my home setup to have them connected to each other.

This is very frustrating - Really starting to think I made a huge mistake going with the Deco system - I liked Ubiquity, but I needed a  more simple system for my wife in case of issues when Im traveling for work - but this is a bt too Simple, the options to do anything are just not there and that leads to issues like this - No way to force the Deco to use the wired Backhaul / etc.

Seriously - horrible product ...

I did an optimization on WiFi, and after that completed, you can see on the map that now the backyard Deco is wired and the Front isnt - NOTHING changed, both are wired a they always have been.  So the Deco app now shows Backyard is connected to Frontyard...  Why cant TP-Link fix this?

If you unplug the X50 units does everything work like it should? The X50 outdoor units have "issues" and I have a feeling it's both of them causing the issues.

100% - Of course :)   It works find without them, but the entire idea of getting the Deco setup was to have my front and back yards connected to the network.  Its a requirement for me with my robotic lawnmowers (and in winter, Snow Blower) - not to mention, music by the pool, multiple Light controls and a fair number of custom built ESP32 / 8266 based projects for other automation.

Since TP-Link advertises the X50 and fully compatible with all Deco units - it seems like major false-advertisement.   Now, Im beyond my return period for the system and theX50 add-ons - so Im stuck with them and, essentially, out $700 or so...

@HelpFixDecoApp - Thanks, Ill do that today - Appreciate the quick replies and information.

Just to document the odd behavior a little more - I have been, as time allows, trying to get all of my Deco's wired up for the backhaul, so yesterday I finished the Deco in the Laundry Room (not that we need one in there for just Laundry time :)   -  But its the back corner of the house's first floor, so a good place to put a Deco).  So, now, the Deco apps think bpth X50's are linked to the X65 pro in the Laundry room....

5dc48202917242fc9ab2fbbed619b221

The Good news is that the Deco's do say wired now for the Backhaul  but the newly attached Laundry Room Deco says its using WiFi to connect to the main Deco, the Kitchen.... So its a major bug, as you mentioned, in the X50 outdoor firmware.
