Model: Deco X50-PoE
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.4.9

Hello,

Hoping to get some help with my new Deco X50-POE Mesh WiFi setup. I just configured my network and noticed that some devices that are connected are not showing up in the online device list. Some seemed to show up in the offline list for some reason but are definitely online.

Appreciate the assistance!

Nick

Question, what are those devices?

Ones that have Private Addressing capability?

I see something similar with our Apple devices, iPad, iPhone, and iWatch.

Supposedly, Private Addressing is supposed to use the same MAC address on the same SSID... but sometimes it doesn't seem it does?

I can see connected 'generic' device Icon's with a default name, Tablet, Phone, Watch... and when I dig deeper in the OFF-LINE list I'll find my 'named' device. When I check that device supposedly OFF-LINE, it shows it is ON-Line.

This what seems to work for me:

@IrvSp Some of them are Apple devices yes, however they all are set to the fixed value already.

I did another network optimization from a different location and the channel was modified and a few other non-apple devices popped in.

Interesting.

Sort of makes me think the could be a Security Issue or connected (or tries to connect) to the 5Ghz SSID which they can't handle?

Also, check the Channel number on both, non-working one could be too high for some devices to 'see'?

When you use the Deco app you can on each known device set the BAND to be used. Also check the Wireless settings to see if the channel setting, should be on AUTO, but you can always move it as the DEFAULT might be on a crowded one?

If using Windows, Acrylic has a FREE LAN Analyzer you can check to see if there is a lot of other devices on it creating some Interference.

To address this issue, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

If the Deco app shows zero online client devices:
1. After opening the Deco app, please wait a few minutes to allow the device list to update.
2. Reboot the main Deco unit to refresh the network status.
3. Make sure you have updated the Deco app to the latest version available on Google Play or the App Store.

If some devices are working but are not shown as 'online' in the Deco app:
1. Check that there are no other routers or access points using the same Wi-Fi network name (SSID) as your Deco system, as this can cause confusion in device listing.
2. Ensure that your client devices are set to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP) rather than using a static IP configuration.
3. Reboot your entire Deco system to refresh all connections.

If the problem continues after these steps, please contact us again and provide details about the troubleshooting steps you have already tried. This will help us assist you more efficiently.
