Model: Deco BE63
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.7 build 20250324

I need help.

Replaced Nighthawk router with pair of BE63, one upstairs, one downstairs. BE63 are wired via wall ports but will not backhaul unless directly attached with a single wire.

Printer never had problem with the Nighthawks.

Printer has always had static IP address and I've checked for any conflicts.

Initially had problems with printer because it only functions on 2.4. So I disabled all but 2.4 and set printer via Deco app to use only 2.4.

Printer worked for an evening, but now continually shows as offline to all of my iOS and Mac devices.

Does work with my Win11 machine.

I have updated the printer to the latest firmware.

Any other ideas?

@Mondobongo I wire my Brother MFCs to a network switch...

Is Windows 11 using the IP address, NetBIOS name, or other?  I was recommended to use a static IP but found I could substitute one of the "names" in Windows which would never change even if the IP assigned did.  Is there any chance of getting a driver update for Apple devices?

Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve issues accessing local network devices like your printer on the Deco Mesh network:

1. Ensure all devices are on the same network and subnet:
• Confirm that both your client devices (Mac, iOS, Windows) and the printer are receiving IP addresses from the Deco Mesh and are within the same subnet (for example, 192.168.68.x).

2. Check network connection type:
• Make sure your devices and printer are connected to the main Deco Wi-Fi or Ethernet network, not the guest network. Also, verify that "Device Isolation" is disabled in the Deco app, as this can prevent devices from communicating with each other.

3. Review firewall settings:
• Check the firewall settings on your printer and client devices to ensure they allow access from other devices on the local network.

4. Streaming and casting settings:
• For features like AirPrint or network printing, confirm that the necessary settings are enabled on both the printer and your devices.

5. Windows network profile:
• If you are using Windows devices, ensure the network profile is set to "Private" rather than "Public" to allow device discovery. For instructions, see: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/3072/

6. Direct IP access:
• Try accessing the printer directly via its IP address from your Mac or iOS device to see if it responds.

7. Compare with another router:
• If possible, test the printer with another router to see if the issue is specific to the Deco Mesh system. If the printer works with another router but not with Deco, please contact TP-Link support and provide the results of these troubleshooting steps.

If you need more detailed guidance, please let us know the results of these steps or provide additional details about your network setup.
