Cannot see wired (ethernet connected) external hard drive connection in DECO app
Thursday
Model: Deco XE70 Pro
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 3.6

Just upgraded my wifi to a DECO XE-70 Home Mesh system. Everything appears to works great except for my ADDNAS external hard drive is not showing in the DECO app. DId not change any of my Windows settings. Looking at the DECO app I see two wifi connections to the secondary tower but not the ethernet connected ADDNAS harddrive. Is there a setting to show ethernet connections in te DECO app or do I need to troubleshoot/replace my ADDNAS module or Hard Drive (looking at both it apears the lights on them are operating correctly). Look forward to getting this fix.

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that your external hard drive (ADDNAS), which is connected via Ethernet to your Deco Mesh system, is not appearing in the Deco app's list of connected devices, even though its indicator lights are functioning and your Windows settings have not changed.

Here are some steps to help troubleshoot this issue:

1. If the Deco app shows zero online client devices:
• After opening the Deco app, please wait a few minutes to allow the device list to update.
• Try rebooting your main Deco unit.
• Make sure your Deco app is updated to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.

2. If some client devices (like your ADDNAS) are not shown as 'online' but are working:
• Check that there are no other routers using the same Wi-Fi network name (SSID) as your Deco system, which could cause confusion in device reporting.
• Ensure your ADDNAS is set to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP), rather than using a static IP configuration.
• Reboot your entire Deco Mesh system.

If your ADDNAS is still not showing up in the Deco app after these steps, please contact TP-Link support and provide the results of the troubleshooting above. This will help us assist you further.
