Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.7 build 20240911 rel 53484

Hi! I have recently purchased and setup a mesh network router. Its working fine for all devices but I seem to have issues connecting some IoT devices. There are few things that are confusing that may be preventing me to find proper solution to my problems.

1. I am confused what exactly model I have or what is the relation between them. I have purchased this one from Home Depot - On the web site it says Deco AX1500 Whole Home Mesh Router Wi-Fi 6 System, 3,900 sq. ft. Coverage, 2 x 1 Gbps Ports, 2-Pack, White. Also web site mentions it is Deco W3000 (2-pack)

TP-Link app shows it as W3000 and while researching my issues ChatGPT mentioned that sometimes its referred to as X20, which seems to be the only allowed option for posting here. Can anyone explain where I maybe getting confused or its them who is getting confused?

2. Seems like any of the model mentioned above should be supporting IoT Network. However for some reason I do not see IoT Network option in TP-Link app. App also shows that I have latest version. What am I missing?

Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you have a Deco Mesh system (labeled as W3000/AX1500, which is also known as Deco X20) and you are unable to find the IoT Network option in your Deco app, even though your model supports this feature and your app is up to date.

Here's what you need to know:
The IoT Network is a dedicated Wi-Fi network for smart devices, designed to improve compatibility and management. Most Deco Mesh models, including your Deco X20, support this feature. However, if the IoT Network option is missing in your app, it usually means that one or more Deco units in your network do not support the IoT Network feature, or some units may not be updated to the latest firmware.

What you can do:
1. Make sure all Deco units in your network are updated to the latest firmware. You can check and update firmware through the Deco app.
2. If the IoT Network menu still does not appear after updating, it's likely that at least one Deco in your network does not support this feature. The IoT Network option will only show if every Deco unit in your mesh supports it.

Additional Notes:
• The IoT Network and main network have different Wi-Fi names, but devices on both can communicate with each other.
• The IoT Network supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, but not 6GHz.

If you need further help, please let us know the exact models of all Deco units in your network.

This was a set of two Deco units sold in one kit and these are the only mesh devices I use. Both of them show same model and installed firmware in the TP-Link app.

Thank you for the update. Please go into the deco app. At the bottom click on More and take a screenshot of the options listed.
