I've had and been using this Deco X20 mesh set (base router plus 2 satellites) for over 3 months and haven't had any issues with set up or usage in that time. Today, I noticed that the two satellites were flashing red. At first I wondered if it was a global internet outage but that wasn't the case and the base router is still connecting to the internet and wi-fi just fine.

 

I've tried rebooting the satellites in the app, hard power-cycling them, rebooting the entire mesh system in the app and checking for firmware updates (system is up to date), the satellites still refuse to connect. They are "visible" on the network map in the app but it just tells me that they are not connected.

 

Any ideas what else I need to try to get them working again?

Update:

 

After further fussing around to try to get things working, it seems like the main Deco unit is not transmitting a WiFi signal at all. The unit itself has a steady green light and direct internet connection via Ethernet works just fine but no devices in the house (including the two satellite Decos, apparently) can find the wireless network. This all happened very suddenly and with no warning (no power outages, severe weather, physical trauma to the devices, nothing). What is going on?

First please access the Deco web UI by entering "tplinkdeco.net" in your browser. Navigate to Advanced > System > System Log, select "ALL" in the log type, and save the file to your local computer. Then follow the steps below making sure to attach the logs to the email.

I recommend sending an email to forumsupport.usa@tp-link.com with the following information:

Subject: [Forum Escalation][ID 848222Deco Satellites Suddenly Not Connecting

Forum Nickname: [User Provided]
