Model: Deco BE85
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

i started out with starlink and had CPI security cameras installed.  All were great but needed more wifi outside so I installed 3 of the deco be85 but changed the name of the network.  I cannot get on CPI Security app or on computer through wifi.  I changed the name back but still no luck.  Cpi technicians cannot get on the app they need to connect the cameras.  Any ideas.  I've been on ai and chat so I changed a number of things.  On the app i have no info to show for security or history of anything being blocked

Hi  @Treetrim

Welcome to the community!

To get to the bottom of this, we may need a bit more info about your network.

  1. Is your Starlink gateway in bypass mode and the Deco running in Router Mode? Or are you using the Deco in Access Point Mode?

  2. How do your CPI security cameras connect to the network―does each camera connect individually via Wi-Fi? Or is there a base station/hub that connects to the network via Wi-Fi, and the cameras are then connected to the hub?

  3. Are there any other Deco models in the network? If so, which model is the main Deco?

  4. In your Starlink network, is your Deco set up in Router Mode or in Access Point Mode?

  5. Did you also change the password? If so, you'll likely want to change the password back to the original, too. Assigning a new Wi-Fi name to your network will require devices to reconnect to the new name using each device's network connection steps.

@Ryan thank you so much - i've spen over 60 hours researching and i'm still lost.  I can do technology but when you get into the logistics i'm lost.  Yes my starlink is in bypass mode.My 3 be85 decos are in router mode although I changed it at one point to access and changed it back. i have 3 mesh nodes and they are be85  my deco is in router mode  when i originally set it up everything worked fine with starlink.  I added the deco and unfortunately i  changed the network name .  CPI Security came out and couldn't log into their app they needed so I changed my network name back to the original.  Unfortuntaly my cpi technician changed some things on my app and he left beause he couldn't help so I changed everything back to the original with starlink.  I've changed so many things according to AI and I've been in contact with CPI security but i cannot access my cpi app under wifi.  Any help is so much appreciated

@Treetrim I'm really not sure about the cameras because he couldn't access his CPI app he needed as a technician

@Treetrim Find the CPI site FAQ.  I failed to link it as it is not allowed by the forum software.

I'm kind of disappointed that a technician couldn't solve your issue...

You'll probably need to reset the cameras/PoE bridge(s), then re-set them up.

Some of these IoT devices require you to connect to the same "network" to set up.  This means not only the same SSID and password but also the same band.  So say for example the camera connects to 2.4 GHz, then your phone/controller tablet ALSO needs to be connected to 2.4 GHz to properly set them up.  This becomes a problem with Smart Connect, as 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz are all the same SSID and Password.  The camera is on 2.4 GHz, your phone/tablet being more capable is on 5 GHz, or 6 GHz.  The camera won't allow setup while the phone is not connected to the same 2.4 GHz.  You'll likely need to check which band the cameras connect to.  Disable the other two bands on the BE85 or change their SSIDs to something else.  Connect your phone/tablet to the SSID who's band the camera(s) connect to, and try to set them up.  After setup typically there is no requirement so Smart Connect of all 3 channels can be re-enabled, your phone/tablet doesn't need to connect to the same "network"....
