So I have been having Internet problem recently and I believe my deco router needs a firmware update. That being said, the router was set up by someone else in my home but they are not available at the moment. I tried connecting to the deco with my own profile but it keeps trying to set it up like a new device. Is there a way for me to connect to check for firmware updates without having to re-setup the router prior to updating it?

Do you know the admin password? If you do you can use the steps listed below to check for new firmware 

 

1. Go to http://tplinkdeco.net/ and sign in - use the same password you use to log into the deco app

2. Once your logged in click on Advanced

3, Click on System from the menu on the left 

4, Now click on Firmware Upgrade

5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Check for upgrades
