Hello @Oboogie ,
Welcome to our community.
Here are some steps to help resolve this:
If the Signal LED on the extender turns Off when the disconnection happens:
1. Make sure the extender's Wi-Fi name is different from your router's Wi-Fi name.
2. Please try repositioning it slightly to ensure optimal signal strength (you can refer to https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/3103/ for guidance).
3. On your router, set the 2.4GHz channel to 1, 6, or 11, and the 5GHz channel to Band 1 (channels 36–48).
If the Signal LED stays On when the disconnection happens:
1. Make sure the extender's Wi-Fi name is different from your router's Wi-Fi name.
2. Confirm that your router itself maintains a stable internet connection during these drop periods.
3. Firmware is already updated — no action needed here.
Additionally, try keeping the extender away from potential sources of interference such as metal objects, microwaves, or Bluetooth devices, even at close range these can cause brief disruptions.
