Archer C7 and Archer T1U USB adapter SLOW
Model :
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
I just purchased a new Archer C7 to replace my WDR3600 ( WiFi on 2.4G was becoming very flaky). I purchased an Archer T1U to go with it.
C7 is working fine and configured (with latest firmware). I have a Dell 17R with Windows 10 1607 that is getting max speed (150) out of it's 1705 internal wifi card on 2.4g.
I install the T1U (and download 1.24 Windows 10 driver). Best I can get is 117meg from adapter. I'm approximately 25 feet away from the C7 (with no wall between us). I've tried the recommended steps of using Survey to
see what else is on the 5G band (one weak signal from the neighbor on 167, nothing else). I've tried most of the channel except 167, I've tried auto, I've tried to change every setting (why is there no channel
bandwidth change option?) and cannot improve the speed. Most changes result in a DROP in speed to 88m or 58.8m. I would return the adapter if it weren't for the fact it would cost me more in time than I paid for it.
Anyone have a suggestion for improving the performance to be closer to the 433 ADVERTISED speed?
Does anyone have a network adapter that will actually give a greater than 300meg value using the C7?
Thanks
