Archer C5400 no 2.4 wifi after couple of days and channel shows as N/A
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
C5400 when I have the problem I am not able to see the 2.4 wifi in any of the devices. Channel shows as N/A in web interface and I don't have any problem with the 5 Ghz wifi. Only way to get the 2.4 back is by restarting the router. It will work for a couple of days and then the 2.4 disappears from the SSid list
I have set a fixed channel for 2.4. Smart connect is off. Any suggestion to get the 2.4 to work reliably.

@PeterAmant i claimed warranty. Apprarently it was a defective firmware update that caused it. I am not updating the firmware in the replacement unit.

So is that really the solution recommended by tp-link support? Not to update the device with their latest firmware because it´s not working properly...?
I bought an Archer C5400 a couple of months ago, unpacked and installed (including updating to the latest firmware), and no wi-fi channel worked at all after that.... RMA from the retailer and now got a new one.
Loads of people in this thread with simular issues and seems pretty unstable to update to the latest firmware so I understand. On the other hand there are some "critical" bug-fixes in that latest built and some desireble new features what I can see?
Does your device working properly now despite that you didn´t update firmware?

@Bjaerven that was cause the tech support cited. They did not expressly state not to update.
but having experienced what i experienced and the hassle and time wasted waiting for the replacement, id rather not update my replaced device.
But if there is a new firmware that will be released say in 2020 id give it a chance. Ill not use the firmwares released in 2019.

I've also suffered from that issue, what helped in my case is do not override default dhcp settings, I wnated network to be 10.0... And I found that tbis in my case caused that issue, os I hard reset router, didn't restor ot feom backup but did fresh ne2 configuration and didn't touched DHCP settings, leaved it 192.168.. And the problem is gone, long time ago. Talked a lot with support about this phenomenon but didn't get any meaningful answer from them.

Thx for sharing your experience. I didn´t mess with my "192.168...." and still the problem appeared though. I´ll install my replacement device soon and hope that I was only unlucky with the original one. Time will tell.... Cheers.

@slavag I'm also facing the same issue. I've installed the router AC4000, on the first day it was good, but from the second day onwards I could only see the 5G network from my cellphone. In my laptop I could see the 2.4 G network but couldn't connect. I'm very disapointed with t-plink.
