Will the Deco M9 support Wifi 6 - 802.11ax with any firmware updates? Is this even a possibility?

No WiFi 5 or 802.11AC devices cannot be upgraded to support AX technology. It requires different hardward. You will how ever be able to add a Deco AX model into your network to add AX compatiblity to that particular node, when it launches.

@Carl Will the new Deco AX model be backwards compatible with WiFi 5 oor 802.11AC devices? I just got an AX3000 router and it is not backwards compatible with WiFi 5. I'm deciding what AX router or mesh system to try next.

All of our AX products are 100% backwards compatible with all pervious versions of Wi-Fi, including AC or Wi-Fi 5. The Deco AX products will be no different.
