Hi,

 

I'm having issues with the WiFi 2.4GHz that connect to mobile devices (Especially, Apple iPhone/iPad).

Most of the times, full signal bar but the internet is not loading at all.

But, when I tried connect to WiFi 5GHz, internet is working fine.

 

Tried to switch the Channel Width also same. I set as Auto for Channel Width and Channel also same.

 

Is it the current firmware got issues?

 

Kindly please assist.

If devices are connecting but no internet is being received, check the modem to make sure the internet did not drop. Another thing to try is to wire a device to the router to see if there is still no intenret.

@Tony Hi Tony, when issues happen, I connected to WiFi 5GHz & LAN, the Internet is working fine.

 

Only the 2.4GHz has such issues. Really weird.

 

It happen quite frequently, and I noticed only mobile devices affected. I got few mobile devices at home and also same issues. If connect to WiFi 5GHz the issues is more lesser happen.

 

is it a hardware or software issues?

Try using a specific WIFI channel and change the band width. You may have another device that is causing the issue. It may be a device which is not on your WIFI or it could be one on your WIFI. An informative web page about Routers is https://www.cnet.com/how-to/home-networking-explained-part-1-heres-the-url-for-you/ . Note in it it says "The speed of a single network connection (one pair) is determined by the slowest speed of any of the parties involved. That means if you use an 802.11ac router with an 802.11a client, the connection will cap at 54 Mbps."

Sorry about missing the 5Ghz. Common 2.4Ghz channels are 1, 6, and 11. What you can do is grab a Wi-Fi analyzer on your smart phone, see what channel is used least and try that on the router.

I have an Apple iMac and I use the network tools on it to see who is on what channels nearby. I then can pick one that does not have heavy use. Also note that other non WIFI devices use the same bands as WIFI. Things like wireless cameras, weather stations, cordless phones, ... Sometimes you have to try dirrent ones. You can change the band width to different values and see how it affects your WIFI. If you suspect one of your WIFI devices is causing the issue, change the SSID and connect them one at a time to see the affects on the WIFI.

Seriously, I don't think is the WiFi channel issues. When my mobile device & laptop connected to 2.4 GHz, only mobile devices can not load the page but laptop is working fine.

 

I do not have such issues when I'm using my old WiFi router. My old WiFi router also set as auto WiFi channel.

Changed band, channel also same. 

Any firmware will be released to resolve this kind of unstable issues?
