When I open the Deco app on my phone, I have many options.  Upon clicking on the "advance" button I scroll to the bottom and there is a button labeled "Operating Mode"  Clicking on that takes me to the option of setting the operating mode as Router (default) or Access Point.  Now for my question.  What advantage, if any does changing the settings to Access Point?  I just learned that the receivers are not set up to boost the signal from one receiver to the other and that they all get their signal from the router.  My set up has the router downstairs, a reciver in the middle of the house and the thrid one in the front room.  I was under the impression that in Access Mode you get each receiver to boost their signal to the next one, but I could be wrong.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

When they work via Wi-Fi, they can work off one another. If you are looking to wire them, then that would be different. Depending on the signal quality the Deco units will decide which to connect to.
