  @Ronald_K

Hi, welcome to the community.

The latest firmware for Deco X50-POE_V2 doesn't support Whitelist(Or Wi-Fi Access Control).

Deco X50/X55_V1/V1.2, Deco X20_V4/4.6 and Deco X60_V4/4.6 have added this feature. For other models, we still need to wait for the firmware upgrade.

Thank you very much and best regards.

Hello David,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I bought a set of three Deco X60 AX5400. Is this the right set?

Can a buy a deco x50 outdoor and connect it with the x60 set?

  @AnotherMJB I also support this request.  I have Deco Xe75 routers and it currently lacks whitlisting.  I am currently using block list, but it's already full.  Please include the whitelisting in the Xe75 mesh routers, please!

Absolutely needful, I'm shocked a service like "Web Protection" that's based on URLs or Domains doesn't have it. For example, a particular domain is known to be part of Surfshark (a very popular VPN service) - and it's blocked This 'quick reply' won't let me post the domain correctly, I'll space it (instead of dots) so that it may stick: API sir90hl com

For a home product like the Deco a MAC whitelist option should be mandatory. At least if they list parental controls as a feature of the Deco system. I have had several routers that has this, including my current TP-Link Archer AX1800. And they have whitelist that block BOTH wired and wireless connections. I can only think of Asus of the big consumer brands that only does whitelist on wireless.

If there is no mac whitelist (wired and wifi), you can just generate a random mac address and defeat parental controls. It is not easy being a parent.

My question is, is the "WiFi Access Control" a whitelist for wireless only, or does it work for wired clients too?   @David-TP ?

If it is only for wireless clients then it is almost useless. If this is true, then I can not use the Deco as a router.

Is there a recommended way to upgrade and simplify my current network that has Deco M1300 (same as M5) with a new Deco that gives this functionality + has Homecare (not the Homeshield you have to pay annually for)?

Regards, Hans

  @hjsteg

Hi, welcome to the community.

"WiFi Access Control" works only for wireless clients and it doesn't work for wired clients.

So far, I'm afraid there hasn't been a HomeCare model which also supports Wi-Fi Access Control.

If you already have an Archer AX1800, maybe you could set Deco M5 into access point mode to work with AX1800.

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP Thanks for the quick reply, and clarification regarding Deco models with HomeCare vs those newer that has access control. Too bad, but I guess you cant have the best from both. My primary interest here is in the parental controls functionality, and looking more into that, it seems that Home Shield basic does indeed cover my basic needs. I love the simplicity of the Deco app on my phone and to have only one app to relate to.

Could I propose to have the mac whitelist feature working with both WiFi and Wired clients, to have it work like "Access Control" on the Archer routers? It would make the parental controls more bullet proof. It would certainly make my life as a parent easier:-).

For now I will make do with the Deco´s as they are. At least they warn me whenever a new device joins the network, and that is a really useful feature.

Regards, Hans

 @David-TP

Will machines with older versions of DECO X60 such as V1, V2, and V3 support the whitelist function through firmware updates in the future?

SO DOES ANYONE know if whitelisting by MAC address has been added to M5???   I have the latest firmware, but can't find squat.

  @WTFrog They dont have that. And if they ever will, who knows? It seems that those older models that have Homecare does not get the new features unfortunately.
