Model: Archer C1900
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 20161117 rel.77332(5553)

Does the C1900 v.2 with firmware version 1.0.0 Build 20161117 rel.77332(5553) not allow for the flashing of 3rd party firmware? I recently aquired one and would like to set it up on a VPN so I can remote desktop into my home network, but it won't accept any of the DD-WRT versions I tried and searching the DD-WRT forums just results in a lot of questions about this specific model and version with no ansers.

Flashing third party firmware is not only a risky but kills any warranty. I have done it on an old Linksys 'G' router and it works. It is my backup router that I never had to use through several routers and one move. I can not even give it away. Beware, sometimes if you flash third party firmware, there is no way to get back to the manufacture's firmware. And note that the third party firmware is basically just a hack done by hackers. The C1900 specs shows VPN pass thru for PPTP, L2TP, and IPSec.
