Slow speeds with Windows 7
Slow speeds with Windows 7
I bought this router to replace my still functioning Cisco Linksys E1500. My ISP provides 200+ megabit service. A cable tech tested this at my modem and got 229 Mbps. My PC has a Gigabit NIC. When I direct connected the modem to the NIC, I got >220 Mbps. I also boot into Ubuntu via an external HDD on the same PC. I also get download speeds >220 Mbps. However when I am in Windows, I rarely get >100 Mbps and often way less. My old router conststently connected my at ca: 90 Mbps and this is just a fast ethernet router, not a gigabit router like the AX1500 is supposed to be.
As this PC is used with a wired connection, I have temporarily disabled Wifi, but that did not help the cause. I need to get better performance out of this unit or I am considering returning it. I have not made a lot of changes to the default configuration and am hoping someone can give me some insight into why this unit cannot seem to outperform a much older unit.
Thanks

@ArcherC8 I did most of those and I think it may have helped. I did get some below par tests on 1st boot for a few days and a reboot usually helped. Now things seem to be working better. Not as good as I would like, but as good or better than my old router. I get about 160 tops and usually get in the low 100's.
Thanks for all of the help to all.
