Model: Archer A7
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I've been having trouble with my wifi connection stability and I was suggested to try sqm from OpenWRT as a fix. I ended up not liking the changes and tried to revert back to stock firmware. This is when I made a mistake of flashing Archer A7(US)_V5_191203 from the firmware download page. I have tried the TFTP suggestions found from Google searches but Archer A7 doesn't seem to send a request to my TFTP server. I have used WireShark to confirm that it sends a signal to 192.168.0.66 and that it looks for the recovery bin file, but when I start the router after holding onto the reset button, I don't see a request being made to my TFTP server. I made sure to follow the videos so that my Ethernet connection address is set to 192.168.0.66. Any insight to this situation would be appreciated, thank you.

Sometimes going to third party firmware it is a oneway trip. I would try copy the firmware to a pc and disconnect everything except the pc from the router including the modem. Power cycle and see if you can get logged on to the router to load from the pc.

Check this procedure. It worked for me! https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/TP_Link_Archer_A7v5#TFTP_RECOVERY_TO_REVERT_BACK_TO_STOCK Basically, please follow it very precisely, step by step. It is even important that you install the right tftp server, otherwise the tftp client which is built into the bootloader of the Archer will send commands which might be misinterpreted by the other tftp server.
