Archer AX1500 extremely slow wifi6 speed with latest firmware
- I live in Japan and I bought my AX1500 from Amazon Japan
- Hardware Version: Archer AX10 v1.0
- Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20200827 Rel. 40928(4A50)
- ISP: NTT EAST / ASAHI NET, IPv6
- I have lots wifi devices at home, but only 2 of them supports wifi6. They are: my iPhone 11 Pro Max, my Dell xps laptop.
- Problem: everything worked fine, until I installed the latest firmware. After installing, I noticed my wifi6 devices slow down to the point that their wifi speed is unusable.
- Before speed (fast.com): download 150Mbps / upload 300Mbps / 14ms latency
- After speed (fast.com): download 50Mbps / upload 50-300Mbps / 14-100ms latency, unstable
- In the meantime, my other 802.11ac devices are not affected and work as fast as before
- Also, if I manually turn off 802.11ax and force 802.11ac in the setting, then both of my wifi6 device return to normal very fast speed and very low latency

@RC_Robio Thank you! OFDMA did the trick. After disabling I hit 190 down and 186 up again. Now I don't have to send this back.

I just upgraded 2 days ago to the new firmware from the last version that was rock solid now to an absolutely worthless connection. For the past 2 days I've had to constantly reset my router and restart my devices.
Today the wife called and tells me our daughter has been kicked off her connection and no longer has access which is a super bad thing seeing she has been in online schooling since the start of the school year.
Last 2 days its mostly been 5ghz issues but now its propagated over to 2.4 which is now pissing off the whole household. So I'm rolling back to the last version as well. Other than updating the firmware no other settings were changed so something with this update isn't playing well across the board.

This also worked for me but seems like a bug as I thought OFDMA was a feature of WiFi 6...

@ceitel Yes, but it has not worked out so well. I believe it is issues with older Intel Wifi 6 cards. Hopefully it will be updated.

@Tony - do you know if it is possible to revert the firmware? I tried and it did not work.

I'm afraid not, as you can see there is a note mentioned "Note: You cannot downgrade to the previous firmware after you install this version of firmware. "
Do you also encounter an issue with the current firmware? Please describe the issue in detail, then we can proceed to solve it.

@Kevin_Z If we turn on OFDMA in Wi-Fi 6 mode then the speed goes down significantly and the latency goes up significantly. This is the biggest complaint from this thread. Please fix it as soon as you can.

I saw your case was escalated to the support engineer as mentioned by Tony last year, wasn't you?
