Model: Archer C4000
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.3 Build 20191026 rel.16299(5553)

I just replaced an old NETGEAR router with an AC4000 MU-MIMO Tri-Band WiFi router. My external (public) IP has not changed. After setting up Virtual Servers for port 80 and 443 to my statically (DHCP reserved) LAN system I can't access any of the ports from the outside.

telnet: connect to address WAN IP: Operation timed out
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host

System parameter for NAT is enabled. Firewall is disabled. I can access the LAN system on the desired ports.

The System Logs only shows that the virtual servers have been enabled.

DMZ also does not work. Nothing comes in from the outside. Switching back to the NETGEAR all works again.

What else can I check?

Thanks

Quick update: when connecting via my phone from the OUTSIDE everything works, but when on my LAN it DNS resolves to the external (public) IP and apparently the router can't handle internal LAN traffic to the public IP. What gives? How can I fix this?

For now I fixed it by having a local DNS server that resolves locally hosted FQDNs to my LAN address and point the LAN DHCP to that DNS server. It would be nice if TP-Link fixed NAT loopback, howerver
