Does the old password work? You may need to power cycle the router after the change. If you change it back, does it work? Are you using a PC or Apple? Any special characters in the new password?

Go to the W10 Credential Manager in the Control Panel and the Windows Credentials. Probably have one set for the ROUTER (possibly under the IP Address of the router or the Share name (which is the one that needs changing). That would have your old UID and PW in it and sent automatically. Either delete it or edit it to the new one. Should fix the problem.

Yes, I think so. W10 will use the Credential when it accesses the USB Share. Hence the error you get.
