Model: Archer AX6000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1

I just got this router.  I frequently use my 5GHz band for virtual reality, usually playing through a PC using Virtual Desktop.

In the QoS settings there are options for both gaming and streaming.  How would Virtual Desktop be classified?  It is actually both - it is essentially streaming to the headset while playing a game.

@Greybird

Depending on your network, you may not even need QoS.

You should be able to use ether one. If you have issues with one, try the other one.

@ArcherC8 Thanks.  I can't really find anything that defines what qualifies as 'Streaming' and 'Gaming', whether it analyzes the data on the spot or works off of a database, or what.   I did, however, find that I can prioritize individual devices, which should help.

In a household that often has one person downloading, one person streaming HD video, one streaming 4k, and one playing VR, it gets a little signal-crowded sometimes.  And buffering on a VR headset is genuinely not fun - it's like the whole world starts lurching with you in it.
