Hello, I myself don't have an HP 8500 printer at hand, but I find something on their website, maybe you can check if it helps.

1. Press the "Setup" button on your printer to access the device's menu.

2. Use the left and right arrow buttons to navigate through your printer's menu. Select "Network", press "OK", and then choose the "Wireless Setup Wizard" option. Press "OK" again.

3. Select your wireless network from your list of available networks and press "OK". Enter the network password, if you have set one, to connect your printer to the network.

Alternatively, if there is a WPS button on the printer, you can press that button then press the WPS button on the Archer C8 within two minutes, it will also connect to the wireless network of the router. Below is the guide you can check:

Hope this helps.
