Model: Archer AX73
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 20211222

My laptop (Alienware m15 R6) was being limited to 30mbps even hardwired on a 1gbps connection. I couldn't figure it out. I tried everything. My cellphone was getting a faster connection (iPhone 13 Pro) and downloading items at 20mbps.

I turned on speed limiting to my laptop and set it to 1gbps and then got the full speed. Anyone know why this firmware created this bug?

previoulsy it worked fine and I had my laptop as the high priority device.

Problem Solved, after doing a soft reset (retaining SSID names  and resetting everything else) the router now holds onto my 2.4ghz clients and has stopped dropping them.

Hello, have you ever configured QoS before installing the new firmware? As discussed in the community before, some customers found the QoS was configured with lower download and upload bandwidth, which is the reason why they cannot get the expected speed when connecting to the router. This is the guide to disable the QoS on the AX73, you may review and confirm.

Regarding the Speed Limit feature, do you mean you have never enabled it for any device when the speed on the laptop is capped at 30mbps? Can I have the Speed Limit settings screenshot on the AX73? This is the configuration guide for your reference.

No QoS enabled.

But since new firmware update the router keeps dropping ALL of my 2.4 gHz connections at random times. I'm going to do a factory reset and see how things turn out.

I see. Please do report back if the 2.4G issue will be resolved by the reset or not.
