Model: Deco P9
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.3

My WiFi connection has been flaky recently, cutting in and out, especially after a certain time at night (after 10 pm).

Right now, my WiFi network isn't working. It has a self-assigned IP address starting in 169. The guest network seems to work fine, which is odd.

The ethernet connection to the Deco is getting a good IP address starting in 192.

I've tried several Mac based solutions like renew/release DHCP, adding/removing networks, etc. Nothing is working. I've reset the router several times and the IP address is still self-assigned.

I am hesitating on doing a full reset of the Deco (at the bottom of the unit). The app isn't really helpful in diagnosing the issue.

I've looked at all of my Parental controls and they're all disabled. The firmware is updated.

What can I do?

Thanks for the feedback.

There are some suggestions for your reference:

1. Could you please try to manually set up a 192. IP on one or several wireless clients to see whether they are able to get internet?

2. When you are available, please refer to this link to change another Deco as the main Deco to see whether it made any difference:

How to Setup the Satellite Deco to be the Main Deco?

By the way, have you checked whether both 2.4ghz and 5ghz had the same issue?

What are the model numbers of the clients that had self-assigned IP addresses?

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

I tried manually assigning the IP address and it doesn't work. Will resetting the entire system flush everything out?
