Deco BE95 and BE85 Spanning Tree Protocol Blocked Ethernet Backhaul
I just set up my network for my new house consisting of 2x BE95, 2x BE85 and 1 X50-PoE all wired in to my Ubiquiti EnterpriseXG-24. Previously I was temporarily using them wired up to the main BE95 which had no issues but have since added the switch to get full 10Gb backhaul.
Layout: ONT -> Main BE95 (Router mode) SFP+ -> XG24 -> All Decos wired in RJ45
I first noticed my network behaving erratically, slowing down and eventually dropping out. While investigating the issue, I see that XG24 has blocked the ports of most of my mesh units. I tried resetting them which temporarily resolved the issue but after a couple hours, I see that it has blocked the main uplink port.
I then realized that the combined backhaul feature was likely the cause as there are no other loops in my network. Is there any solution like disabling wireless backhaul because disabling STP seems like a poor fix? Even if I do disable STP I'm afraid it'll still cause a broadcast storm across my devices.
If there are no configuration remedies, can I use the TL-ST2008 or TL-ST5008 (from Taobao) to run backhaul for all my Decos? Can anyone from TP-Link confirm this will work seamlessly?
Proposed layout 1: ONT -> Main BE95 (Router mode) SFP+ -> TL-ST5008 -> All Decos wired in RJ45 + XG24
Proposed layout 2: ONT -> UniFi Dream Machine -> XG24 -> TL-ST5008 -> Decos in AP mode
