Firmware Version:

There is no option to disable the cloud connectivity of the Deco rounter. Can TP-Link at least be transparent about how it connects to the cloud so users can set upp appropriate firewall rules to block this traffic on our own.  I realize this will break app functionality, but most people do not need to make many changes once the router is configured so breaking that functionality is not a big deal. We can also always disable the firewall rules whenever we need to reconfigure the router.

Could you please provide the URL/IP and ports used to connect to the cloud server.

Not providing customers any way to block cloud access is not an acceptable position.  Major companies are frequently hacked, leaking customer information.  The privacy policy also indicates that our info may be shared with law enforcement but does indicate the cicumstances under which it could be shared.  I can only assume that it is offered up without warrants.

  @picopir8

I recommend submitting a support ticket regarding this matter and requesting that it be considered as a feature request for internal tracking.

Below are the instructions for this process:

1. Email support at support.usa@tp-link.com.
2. Include the model number of your Deco router, along with the hardware and firmware versions.
3. Clearly describe the issues you are experiencing and then send the email.

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1
