wi-fi 6 extender on wi-fi 7 router
I purchased a wi-fi 6 extender to create a home mesh but didn't realize my router was wi-fi 7. I thought it was wi-fi 6. Will it still create the mesh system?

Welcome to the community. To answer your question we'll need to know a bit more about your network:
- What is the model of your router? Is it a Deco Mesh or Archer Router?
- What is the model of your Wi-Fi 6 extender? Is it a universal Wi-Fi extender, or a Deco Mesh device?
This info will help us identify what you're working with for your network setup, confirm compatibility, and provide general recommendations.

Hi,
Sorry, it is an Archer BE600 and the extender is the AX300/RE715X. I haven't opened the extender yet so I can send it back. I was just wondering if I could just use it and save on the hassle.

I went ahead and just returned it and got the wi-fi 7. But thanks for responding.

Thanks for the update! Glad to hear you made the jump to Wi-Fi 7. While an EasyMesh network would certainly have been possible between your Wi-Fi 7 router and one of our Wi-Fi 6 range extenders, like the RE715X, the extended network would use the Wi-Fi 6 protocol.
If your goal is seamless Wi-Fi 7 for both the main router and extended network via EasyMesh, then a Wi-Fi 7 extender, like the one you now have, is the best bet. 👍
