Multiple VPN clients behind C50 router - possible issue?

I have a C50 that I need to have 2 desktops using a VPN behind. either one seems to work fine if the other is disconnected, but connecting the 2nd one seems to give timeouts. occasionally it will connect the 2nd one but quickly disconnects.
the VPN client is for Kerio Connect and I think it's L2TP based, but is otherwise custom made for their gateway appliance.
Is there a limitation of the C50 that only 1 VPN client can be behind it at a time?
